Discover the Sherfield School Difference: Exceptional Learning for Junior Prep Children
Year 1 to Year 4 (5 to 8 years old)
At Sherfield School, our Junior Prep phase is where curiosity comes alive and confidence begins to flourish. From Years 1 to 4, children step into a world carefully designed to nurture their natural love of learning , one where every question is encouraged, every voice is heard, and every achievement is celebrated.
Our core values of Kindness, Courage and Respect underpin every moment of school life, helping children feel safe, supported and ready to rise to challenges. These values aren’t abstract ideas; they shape the way our children interact, learn and grow together.
In Junior Prep, learning is both exciting and meaningful. Whether exploring the ancient Greeks in Year 4, journeying through Stone Age history in Year 3, or investigating the Great Fire of London in Years 1 and 2, our connected curriculum brings subjects to life through hands-on experiences, outdoor exploration and creative discovery.
Music plays a central role in our offer. Every child enjoys weekly choir, instrument tuition, and dedicated music theory, giving them the confidence to perform, collaborate and express themselves creatively from a young age.
Alongside strong academics, children benefit from specialist teaching, vibrant clubs, outdoor learning in our beautiful woodland grounds, and a warm, attentive pastoral team that truly knows each child.
