Inspection Reports
In March 2024, Sherfield School underwent a comprehensive three-day inspection as part of the ISI's (Independent Schools Inspectorate) routine cycle of school evaluations.
We are pleased to announce that the resulting report is exceptionally positive, highlighting numerous strengths and achievements within our school community.
Under the new ISI inspection framework introduced in September 2023, schools no longer receive traditional one-word gradings. Instead, the focus is on ensuring that schools meet statutory requirements, with detailed reports outlining areas of excellence and opportunities for growth. Sherfield School met all statutory regulations.
The ISI inspection team, made up of eight inspectors, demonstrated a meticulous approach throughout the inspection process, thoroughly exploring every aspect of school life.
They conducted questionnaires, discussions and interviews with students, parents and staff, made detailed observations during lessons and extra-curricular activities, visited all parts of the school, and scrutinised pupils’ work and the school’s documentation and records to provide a comprehensive assessment.
The report acknowledges Sherfield School's commitment to excellence across various domains, including academic achievement, pastoral care, extracurricular provision, and leadership effectiveness.
It highlights the dedication of our staff, the engagement of our students, and the supportive community that underpins our school's ethos.
Some key findings from the report include commendations for our innovative teaching methods, the effectiveness of our safeguarding procedures, and the inclusive environment that fosters the holistic development of every student.
Additionally, the ISI recognised Sherfield School's robust governance structures and our proactive approach to continuous improvement.
The ISI has also provided us with some recommended next steps, which we are eager to address as part of our ongoing commitment to future growth and excellence. We are already working on developing an action plan to address these recommendations. Our dedicated team is committed to implementing strategies that will enhance the educational experience for all our students.
